The Media Buyer will learn to navigate traditional media within the client team. You will be focused on buying broadcast media (OOH, TV, Radio) and publisher media (print, education specific providers, online publishers); negotiating prices for our clients and feeding into overall cross-channel campaign strategy.

This role will centre on supporting campaign strategy, negotiation, procurement, media innovation and client success. You will nurture and strengthen existing relationships with key publishers and engage them to gain the best competitive deals possible for our clients.

Job Details:

Day to day you will:

  • Create media plans to ensure the right strategies are in place with the right student specialist media selected
  • Compare, negotiate and procure media directly with publishers and suppliers
  • Delivery of traditional and publication media and update clients on their status
  • Provide in-campaign reporting on media and reporting on completed media for each campaign
  • Liaise with suppliers on how to improve performance
  • Attend relevant workshops and events, sharing learnings with the Media team and the wider business
  • Lead by example, ensure upkeep of the supplier and asset specification database
  • Be analytical with the ability to communicate technical jargon with a variety of stakeholders with varying technical knowledge.
  • Test and learn with new partners and channels
  • Understand the student audience and the challenges within the Media Landscape
  • Assisting with research
  • Ad hoc projects within other departments where needed

Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate high attention to detail
  • A strong team player and strong communicator
  • An outcome-focused approach to problem analysis and solving
  • An interest in social media and digital platforms
  • Eager to learn and build knowledge of the advertising sector
  • Calm under pressure and looking for a taste of a fast paced environment
  • Not a stranger to numbers. Ready to get stuck into number crunching via excel
  • Digital savvy and a keen multi-tasker
  • Logical thinker – enjoys puzzles and games to solve problems based on the information presented.
  • A motivated team player who has great time management and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple client projects at once
  • A self-starter, capable of setting goals and reporting progress against them
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and detail-oriented
  • Creative problem solver
  • Able to work from our Brighton office

*The company closes down its offices over the Christmas period. All staff are required to take annual leave for up to 3 to 4 working days during this period.
