The project: Asset Management and Compliance Programme at Heathrow Airport.
Mace is delivering a long pipeline of projects within the Airport to upgrade the systems and facilities and ensure compliance. The scopes are varied but require a strong MEP background to manage the design teams and deliver these projects.
We are looking for an MEP Design Manager who has experience of working on new and refurbishing schemes, ideally in the Aviation sector. You will be responsible for the pre-construction design management and your role will include:
– Review tender documentation and identify project risks
– Assisting the design team through the scheme / production design stage and the delivery team through into implementation and handover.
– Demonstrate design management procedures, review programmes and set design deliverables.
– Attend/chair design team meetings as necessary during contract.
– Monitor and report on design progress, statutory approvals, outstanding information required, subcontractor design, environmental/CDM issues.
– Develop and agree design input/output responsibilities between consultants and subcontractors with design responsibilities.
– Monitor progress and status of RFI’s and document control.

You’ll need to have:
MEP related degree
Design and management experience: coordinating and managing multidisciplinary teams
You’ll ideally also have
Membership (or working towards it) of RIBA,MICE,CIBSE,CIOB, RICS,CIAT or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the Aviation sector.
Construction and consultancy expertise.
Knowledge of Building Safety legislation, Building standards, construction contracts, professional appointments and Health & Safety legislation. * Knowledge and practical experience working towards Fire Regulations compliance.
Experience of working in large, diverse teams.
Experience of developing relationships with key senior stakeholders. * Experience working in BIM environments.
Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
