Job description: Physical Operations & Logistics – Base Metals – Logistics, Warehousing or Shipping coverage from within an Investment Bank or Trading firm is a must. – Base Metals is the priority, but there will be exposure to precious as well.

The purpose of this position is to assist the team in its various functions. The team looks after Commodities products, primarily Base and Precious metals. The team manages several functions including and not limited to metal financing, physical movement of metal, warehouse inspections, vessel screening, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, Warrants, deal validation and daily stock / deal reconciliations.

Your Impact and Contribution:

The role requires the ability to manage and resolve deal related quality issues and knowledge of Financial Markets products. The Global Commodities team manages transactional activity of the Global Commodities desks across various regions. We work with several internal and external stakeholders.

• Key source for internal/external stakeholders regarding physical inventory, settlements, warehouse stocks, transit stock, releases to clients etc.
• Handling documentation relating to change of title / storage / warehousing agreements.
• Conducting vessel screening for transit requirements and ongoing monitoring of inventory for trading activity / insurance limits.
• Performing LME / CME deliveries, warranting and cancellations. Detailed understanding of LME/CME specifications for metal delivery including reviewing producer, shipper, and warehousing documentation Vs contracts where appropriate.
• Scheduling and reviewing warehouse inspections / audits and resolution of issues.
• Daily and Monthly reconciliations, reporting and submissions.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have:

• 3 Years + experience (mainly Base with Precious experience highly preferred – settlements & logistics) ideally from a trading house.
• Previous experience on timely receipt and delivery against purchase and sale deals with correct documentation (including shipments, customs clearing, exchange of metal, insurance)
• Monitoring in transit stock and managing the documents and further arrangements with all stakeholders
• 3RD Party inspections
• Experience in stock reconciliations (EOM & DAILY)
• Insurance declarations
• LME, CME Warranting, cancellations, rent endorsements
