The Role
Outfitting and Furnishing Technical and Specialty Engineering Manager will oversee a diverse group of Cognizant Engineers and O&F Designers. The manager will be a first line management representative and responsible for day to day communications and supervisory personnel tasks including employee evaluations, training, growth, mentoring, and disciplinary actions. Ensures compliance of vendor data submittals for Outfitting and Furnishings. Experienced and knowledgeable of 600 SWBS Outfitting and Furnishing Technical requirements. Provides guidance to subordinate cognizant engineers to resolve technical and operation issues in following areas: Insulation, Corrosion, Coatings, Anodes, Furnishings, Deck Covering, Doors, Hatches, Hull Fittings, and Human Factor. Ensure technical drawings and SRDs meet scheduling and quality objectives.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering and 6 years of related experience.
Nice to Have
1. Fluent understanding of 600 SWBS Ship Specifications.
2. Experience and knowledgeable with Insulation, Corrosion, Coatings, Anodes, Furnishings, Deck Covering, Doors, Hatches, Hull Fittings, and Human Factor Engineering.
3. Leadership experience with small to large projects.
4. A good understanding of EVMS.
5. Experience in creating a Plan including estimating, budget allocation, process development and Schedule creation.
