About the role

Permanent – 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible.

Situated between Horam and Heathfield, Maynards Green is a successful and friendly, one form entry community primary school. The school offers a supportive and caring environment and well behaved and highly motivated learners. The experienced and supportive staff team is friendly and committed to maintaining high standards.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated Midday Supervisory Assistant, who will work well as part of a close team, to inspire and care for our amazing children during the lunchtime period.

As well as demonstrating commitment to our school values and to following and implementing the school’s behaviour policy the successful candidate will have a sense of fun and provide opportunities for our children to flourish and grow. They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to and empathise with our children.

The post is for five days per week to cover the lunchtime period both inside the lunch hall and in the playground.

We are looking for a candidate who has the ability to:

  • Use language and other communication skills that children can relate to
  • Demonstrate active listening skills
  • Empathise with the needs of children
  • Work within and apply all school policies e.g. behaviour management, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities
  • Work effectively with colleagues

And who can demonstrate:

  • A commitment to safeguarding
  • Willingness to participate in training and developmental opportunities
  • Willingness to maintain confidentiality on all school matters.
