Contract Type: Ongoing contract

Pay Rate: £25 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties:

  • Work within an outpatient neurological service with patients who have recently being diagnosed with a neurological event
  • Be part of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) delivering high quality specialist occupational therapy for clients by adherence to clinical governance and evidence-based practice
  • Provide service in a range of community settings using highly developed specialist practice underpinned by theoretical knowledge/neuro qualifications.
  • Be a specialist resource of information for health and social care staff, patients, families, carers and external agencies who may require advice, support and guidance in the management of these patients
  • Transfer individual patients’ on-going care to other agencies as appropriate and ensure that the service provided is conducted in a professional, efficient, and effective way
  • Meet the service specification objectives as part of a team providing high quality neuro service

Requirements of the Neuro Occupational Therapists:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience
  • Registered with the HCPC
