We are looking for an IT Helpdesk Technician to join a small company in Wigan on a permanent basis. The company are well-established in their field and specialise in making their own, bespoke software for a range of clients.

In the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers with using their software / products, remote and on-site installation, in addition to technical help desk support.

Working in a small and close-knit team, you’ll be required to deliver excellent customer service to the company’s customers, ensuring product / software support issues are resolved both quickly and efficiently.

Summary of the Role:

  • Supporting customer accounts.
  • Customer installations remotely and on-site.
  • Training customers on new features of their products to ensure best use.
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve customer-specific solutions.
  • Work with product and development teams, identifying opportunities for product improvements.

Skills / Experience required:

  • Experience supporting bespoke software for customers
  • Knowledge of SQL and / or databases (desirable)
  • General knowledge of IT – Operating Systems, networks, servers (ideally)
  • Good organisational skills and previous experience / or an ability to work on different projects
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
