Job Description

The Payroll and Pensions Team are growing, we are therefore looking for an organised and professional person to join our dedicated team responsible for delivering a payroll each month to University employees.

This varied role requires excellent communication, as well as organisational skills. You should have a flexible approach to work with the ability to react well to changing priorities.

You will have a customer-focused approach, flexibility and relevant experience gained from working within a busy office environment. You will have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy; this would include an in depth working knowledge of HR/Payroll Systems, as well as Microsoft Office, Excel and Word in particular.

You must be numerate and able to work on your initiative or as part of a team, as well as being reliable and willing to learn new skills and procedures as required by changing university procedures and legislation.

Applicants must have a good working payroll/pensions knowledge and would preferably have experience of such in a large organisation and possess knowledge of related statutory responsibilities.

You will have experience in a relevant role and qualifications including GCSE minimum grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or NVQ 2-3, or have significant experience in a relevant role. Please note during the interview process that there will be a short capability test.

The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week) on a 4 days per week basis. Job share arrangements may be considered.
