Counter Terrorism Policing South East Border Policing are at the front line of protecting national security from threats at the borders and ports of Surrey and Sussex.
The role of Ports Liaison Officer is to liaise and maintain good relationships with agencies that work at the Border, including both law enforcement and commercial, to enable a flow of information sharing both strategic and tactical.
The successful candidate will visit general aviation sites and general maritime locations to gain good knowledge and relationships to allow the free flow of intelligence and information. This an exciting role where you will create briefing products to CTPSE Border Policing officers and other partner agencies and to manage information received by Border Policing. Additionally, the post holder will support the training requirements of officers and staff
The role holder will also arrange presentations by partner agencies and CPD events to enable officers and staff to have up to date and relevant information.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education or equivalent experience. We are seeking to appoint a candidate with excellent communication and team working skills.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain enhanced security vetting level, SC and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. In addition you must be a British National and able to provide documentary evidence of this.
