Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Edinburgh

Job Description

Fixed term, full-time 35 hours per week

Ideal start date 1st March 2024

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Research Fellow to help deliver a cutting-edge research programme within the newly-established Edinburgh Molecular Mechanisms Cluster.

The Opportunity:

We have shown that molecular quantitative trait loci (molQTL) can reveal specific molecular mediators, cell types and states underlying disease, and lead directly to new, effective therapies. The Edinburgh Molecular Mechanisms Cluster (EMMC) will systematically study single cells from primary human tissues, across a range of perturbation states, to reveal the molecular con- sequences of disease-associated genetic variation. This cross-cutting project combines  precise laboratory techniques with advanced computational modelling.

The holder of this post will conduct laboratory studies using ex vivo human brain and skin tissue to help map molQTL in these disease-relevant clinical tissues.
