ABOUT THE ROLE.
Are you ready to be the driving force behind the seamless supply of our beloved potatoes to our manufacturing sites? If you have a passion for precision, a knack for logistics, and a taste for efficiency, we want you to lead our potato supply chain as a Potato Logistics Maestro!
As the Senior Scheduler, you will orchestrate the day-to-day logistics, ensuring that our manufacturing sites receive the perfect potato loads on the right days, in the right tonnage, and of impeccable quality. Your goal? To deliver customer satisfaction in the most cost-effective way possible.
Reporting into our Potato Supply and Operations Manager you will also…
- Review the three-week rolling plan and craft the daily schedule, optimising tonnages and quality.
- Drive cost efficiencies by mastering quality, contract movement, and location alignment while upholding food safety standards.
- Keep key stakeholders in the loop daily with the approved schedule and quality updates.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and grower group coordinators, ensuring timely delivery of expected quality and advised product volumes.
- Cultivate a smooth relationship between receiving and production, maximizing usable products.
- Collaborate with the Potato Procurement Manager to ensure stored products meet production criteria before scheduling.
- Work closely with hauliers to synchronize deliveries with the schedule and escalate issues when needed.
- Liaise with the Potato Supply Administration team to ensure timely approval and system entry of grower contracts for load scheduling.
- Keep your finger on the pulse of the potato market, securing volume in partnership with the procurement manager.
- Embrace digital processes and collaborate with the McCain Global team to implement new digital tools.
This is a shift pattern that includes working 1 in 3 weekends.

You must have experience in successfully managing and sourcing supply in a fast-moving, dynamic environment. As well as…
- Experience and knowledge of serving the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience in administration and mastery of computer systems.
- Knowledge of potato receiving and production processes (Essential)
- Sound commercial knowledge of the produce industry (Desirable)
- Strong commercial acumen (Essential)
- Confidence and competence in communicating and presenting plans. (Essential)
- Ability to thrive both individually and as part of a dynamic team. (Essential)
- Highly organized individual with the power to motivate yourself and inspire others. (Essential)

Our Whittlesey plant is the very heart of our operations, crafting not only our world-renowned French Fries but also our delectable chilled offerings, including the ever-popular Shake Shake Fries.
