Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced Principal Project Engineer to work onsite at our North Berwick Engineering Center. In this role, the selected candidate will:
- Support the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules.
- Forecast project revenue, monitor costs and re-estimates project costs monthly to maximize project profitability and ensure business targets are met.
- Facilitate project tasks and coordinate with other functional organizations to identify and address project problems, analyze data gathered, develop solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent as the primary customer contact for projects.
- Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management, and Act as Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) of multi-disciplinary employees on projects in technical manufacturing and administrative areas (oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.)
- Maintain and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met.
- Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion; Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.
- Monitor and assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Support military budget Earn Value Measurement System (EVMS) activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related STEM degree and 8+ years of prior experience in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets; or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5+ years of prior experience in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
- Travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Experience in MS Project, Agile, Jira and/or Zenhub.
- Experience in Earned Value Management Systems.
- Experience with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Active or the ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
