We primarily work in the public sector, supporting initiatives that improve society and the lives of citizens with not-for-profit organisations, charities and social enterprises, and some private-sector companies. The key sectors we’re currently working in include education, apprenticeships and skills development, social care, rehabilitation, housing and criminal justice – but we’re constantly growing, developing and finding out about new things.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference on a range of exciting government projects and shape the growing product management community within Farsight Consulting.
We are looking for a product manager with at least two years of experience who is adaptive, engaging, and can apply a product mindset to deliver value and contribute to successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- You’ll be responsible for the success of one or more products and will devise and own the product strategy and vision for these across the range of Farsight clients.
- You’ll be a key point of contact for clients, building solid relationships and developing a deep understanding of their needs and desired outcomes.
- You’ll collaborate with other disciplines and lead one or more multi-disciplinary teams to deliver products and iteratively improve them through all stages of the product lifecycle, demonstrating an agile mindset to ensure that value is delivered quickly.
- You’ll develop product roadmaps, prioritising focus areas and breaking down problems into parts to drive work forward.
- You’ll make product decisions based on the team’s and stakeholders’ views, processing the information provided to make the best choice rationally.
- You’ll contribute to building the Farsight product management community of practice, including coaching other product managers.
Requirements
We’ll assess the following skills during the application process:

You can build and maintain strong relationships, demonstrating emotional intelligence and recognising the different needs of our diverse team members and clients. You have experience managing the expectations of clients and stakeholders and can build trust to create buy-in. You can develop direct and indirect professional relationships, which enable you to increase impact.
- Communication. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, which you can leverage to build relationships and facilitate effectively, asking the right questions to ensure meetings remain focused. You have experience communicating sensitive messages and navigating difficult conversations, steering these towards positive outcomes. You can deliver complex messages in a way which enables you to achieve impact.
- Agile expertise. You have a breadth of experience in agile frameworks and methods and have applied these in multiple stages of the project lifecycle in service or software delivery. You can apply and adapt these pragmatically and innovatively to meet a team’s and client’s needs. You have an in-depth understanding of the different agile roles and can work in multi-disciplinary teams effectively to get the best out of each team member. You can use your agile expertise to decide how to deliver value quickly and maintain alignment.
- Planning. You have experience collaborating with team members and clients to ensure the product roadmap will deliver what’s needed in the desired time frame. You can assess the sequence of steps needed to deliver a successful outcome and can pivot and be flexible to new learning that comes to light. You can communicate a project’s goal, overall outcomes, and vision to keep the team focused.
- Decision Making. You are confident in making informed, evidence-based decisions and can process information from various sources to assess the best way forward. You are comfortable prioritising work areas to provide focus and break the problem down into parts to ensure value is delivered.
- Leadership. You role-model positive and supportive servant leadership behaviours. You know how to adjust your leadership approach to meet the needs of a diverse team and create the right environment to keep team members motivated and empowered. You champion ways of working and a positive team culture.
- Adaptability. You can adjust your product management approach, including agile and leadership approaches, to suit different client contexts and team needs.
Nice to have:
- Experience with government digital service assessments
- Experience in another discipline, e.g. business analysis, delivery management, service design, development

This is a UK based role which requires eligibility to work in the UK. We offer a Hybrid working model – happy to discuss flexibility/remote arrangements (UK). A willingness to travel at times to our client/our offices when needed is important.
