Achieve your ambitions – join us at JLL!UK, exact location not specific – candidate could work remotely with periodic travel to client sites and / or JLL officesRole PurposeAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Finance Manager to join JLL’s Work Dynamics business in a specific client account which offers professional services to UK government.The finance elements of the role will involve:
- Responsibility for month end accounting.
- Responsibility for the budget process.
- Working with the central finance team, who are responsible for financial administration.
The commercial elements of the role will involve:
- Review of supplier invoicing to confirm the invoices submitted follow accepted practice.
- Support in the compilation of contract variations.
- Retention of value add and continuous improvement trackers to demonstrate the value to the government.
- Supporting the transparency information required for this type of contract.
The role will report into the commercial director, as the finance function demands are relatively simple. However, this presents the manager with an opportunity to step into a role where they are mostly responsible for budgeting, month end reporting and leading on finance business partnering – this is a role for a person who has developed the hard skills of finance and now wants a good stepping stone role towards being a finance manager in a large multinational company.What this job involvesMonthly Accounting
- Compile month end accounts for submission to JLL group.
- Compile accruals and complete the journal process with JLL group.
- Present month end performance to account and commercial director.
- Complete all returns and information required as part of month end processes.
Budgeting
- Maintain final outturn forecast file to explain movement each month.
- Complete annual budget and reforecast data for submission to JLL group.
Invoice Review (Client Task)
- As part of value for money reviews for UK government, review sample of invoices to confirm that the invoices are correctly compiled as financial invoices (GL codes, VAT, etc).
- Compile monthly analysis for use by our client.
Contract Variations
- Compile cost data and cost variation files on direction of the commercial director for client agreement.
- Support in the administration of the contract as required.
Continuous Improvement / Value Add / Gain Share
- Manage continuous improvement, value add and gainshare valuations and files.
- Manage the trackers associated with these activities.
- Manage the annual and quarterly processes to ensure value for money to the UK taxpayer and the financially monitoring constant evolution of our services.
- Prepare presentations and provide support to these processes.

- Essential – 4 or more years’ experience in a finance role.
- Qualification in an accounting discipline.
- Strong analytical ability and ability to present detail to senior managers appropriately.
- Solid understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Strong communication in written English, as this role will include some client reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple work assignments simultaneously, manage multiple or conflicting priorities, and handle a high-pressure working environment.
- Familiar with MS Office, specifically MS Excel.
- Positive, solution-oriented communications with a willingness to take responsibility and a talent for getting things done
