At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

About the Role:

You’ll join our newly established Writtle School of Agriculture, Animal and Environmental Sciences, within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. You will play a lead role in developing ARU Writtle’s reputation in smart and sustainable Agriculture. We’re committed to valuing and celebrating our diversity and promoting equality and inclusion, and we hold an Athena Swan Silver award.

You’ll be expected to demonstrate leadership in research and have an excellent and active record of research income generation. You’ll be connected to a wide external network, including funding bodies, and/or industrial partners, exploiting your knowledge and experience in order to assist other colleagues to enhance their research activities.

You will hold a PhD or Professional Doctorate or equivalent technical specialisation and or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. With significant and successful research profile evidenced by publications and history and current evidence of success in achieving external research funding, including commercially sponsored research and knowledge exchange. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the research environment in the UK and globally.

The successful candidate would also be expected to contribute to teaching, particularly in the area of research project supervision at undergraduate and MSc level.
