Programme Manager, Newton International Fellowships at The Royal Society
Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent team leadership skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate will line manage four Grants Managers in the International Grants team. They will work closely with the Senior Manager, International Grants. Experience of funding research and/or grant making is essential.
The post holder will be responsible for the effective management and operational delivery of the Newton International Fellowship programme aimed at attracting and retaining emerging talent in the UK and building a globally connected, mobile research and innovation workforce. The main purpose of the role is:
- To oversee the application, selection and awarding process for defined research funding calls, in accordance with agreed standards.
- To oversee the management of a portfolio of awards including contributing to the development and delivery of wider programmatic support.
- To work closely with colleagues across teams to ensure ongoing improvement in the context of grant-making and meeting the needs of the research and innovation community.

Location: Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AG plus hybrid remote working
Pay Band: D
Salary: £44, 067
Contract type: Permanent
