The project:

We require a proven project director who can demonstrate they have successfully built multi-million-pound new build and refurbishment projects within an aviation environment. Leading the design and build of a circa£200m facility, you will have excellent client management skills, be commercially astute and be comfortable challenging bias to lead and grow a diverse team capable of delivering distinctive value.

You’ll need to have:

  • Detailed knowledge of construction and project delivery
  • Detailed knowledge of digital platforms and being a leading voice in using them.
  • Detailed knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards and leads implementation of them.
  • Proven experience in construction management, managing the delivery of schemes from £50m-£250m in value.
  • Developed communication, presentation and project planning and development skills.
  • Developed budgetary oversight expertise.
  • Financial/legal knowledge, specific to their remit.
  • Sets the bar for site standards and builds a culture to meet and exceed Mace and contract standards.
  • Open, approachable, with strong empathetic communication skills.
  • Be aware of industry technological advances and look to implement for efficiencies.
  • Well-regarded across the relevant sector/market and operating at the highest level of compliance.
  • Completed apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Relevant degree, NVQ or HNC (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 15 years experience in a site-based leadership role (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS and managerial/professional CSCS card (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).

You’ll also have:

  • Excellent understanding of safety, quality, programme (including critical path thinking) and commissioning strategy.
  • Detailed understanding of MEP systems, and their integration into the build.
  • Contract literate to a good standard.
  • Spent time in both a consultancy and construction environment (or equivalent).
  • Understand and lead on business unit, engine and corporate strategy at project level.
  • Excellent time management.
  • An awareness of own workstyle and commitment to ongoing development via professional feedback and seeking out external training/mentorship

  • Recognised construction training/qualification (or equivalent).
  • A member of : MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS / MICE (or working towards) (or equivalent)

– Member Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).
