Join our team as a Project Engineer and be a part of the exciting journey towards a sustainable and vibrant West Berkshire. Under the guidance of our Asset Manager & Principal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering our council’s vision for flood risk management, sustainable drainage, and land drainage.

As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in developing and implementing flood management initiatives and projects, fulfilling our statutory obligations in flood risk management and land drainage. Your work will also involve working with flood risk communities, aiding in the implementation of SuDS and Natural Flood Management Schemes, and maintaining and updating our asset management database under the Flood and Water Management Act.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to assess and respond to planning applications, ensuring that development proposals align with our commitment to sustainable practices. Your expertise will contribute to West Berkshire Council’s role as a Lead Local Flood Authority, engaging with external bodies and promoting our drainage policies.

We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and adaptable individual who is eager to pursue further education and professional development. With a degree and at least 3 years of experience in Civil Engineering or a BTEC Higher National Certificate in the field, you will bring valuable expertise to our team.
