Lendlease Consulting is a 100 plus person business working with many Clients across the UK. We are primarily a company offering project, commercial, planning, construction, BIM etc management to Clients. We have a major programme in Transport for London (TfL) and are looking for Project Manager to integrate into the Piccadilly Line Upgrade depots team with the following skill sets:
We are currently recruiting for a Client Side Project Manager to join our consulting business and work as part of the integrated delivery partner for our client on a major rail deport modernisation project.
Duties (Some not all)
- The quality of the technical support will have a direct bearing on the success of projects. It is essential that the Project Manager is involved in the full project cycle. Input at all stages of the design is vital as this is where they will eliminate/mitigate risk, provide value engineering, innovation, and check compliance with the Employer’s Requirements in a timely manner. Input at construction stage has quality, financial and programme benefits. Other duties are in knowledge sharing, collaboration with the procurement team and assisting in matters such as dispute resolution where specialist input may be required.
- Managing the packages ensuring good quality, uniform technical and technical support
- At design development stage where innovation in design or construction methodology will increase the completeness of the design. The role includes interpreting and challenging unique designs technically, evaluating potential outcomes to deliver robust design conclusions with risk factors highlighted and mitigated where possible.
- Ensure all non-conformance’s and defects which arise during factory or on-site works are recorded on relevant systems and closed out by the construction team.
- At design stage carrying out due diligence studies, reviewing contractors’ proposals and auditing of suppliers.
- At construction stage, assist site management in the delivery, including production and quality issues carrying out onsite inspections and addressing any technical queries which arise and monitor compliance with Employer’s Requirements / brief.
- Chair regular progress meetings with the subcontractors to monitor their progress against the accepted programmes and ensure speedy resolution of design queries and to track the progress of their designs and pre-construction activities.
- Chair regular meeting with the relevant consultants in order to ensure the development of the detailed design occurs in line with programme expectations.
You will bring
- Previous experience working on major civil infrastructure rail projects and would be highly advantageous if experience within depot modernisation / construction but not a pre-requisite.
- Experience working in either and contracting or consulting organisation
- Demonstrable experience working as a Project Manager or Package Manager in a delivery role
- Strategic thinking and visionary, commercial acumen and passionate about building safely.
- Will have a minimum of a HNC in Civil Engineering or construction related subject.
