Job description: The role of The Quality Inspector performs inspections to ensure the production process follows guidelines and falls within specifications. Inspectors issue acceptance or rejections based on the outcome of inspections and initiate paperwork to ensure purchasing, inventory, and accounting records remain accurate.
Our Role
- Conducts inspections against quality and operations processes such as calibration, verification of batch records, and assures inspection recordings from other areas outside of quality; inspections include but not limited to first articles, customer returns, in-process, and incoming, final inspections, staged products
- Initiates and supports investigations Non-Conformance reports as required.
- Supports in material set up in SAP such as processing Quality Management notifications, QIR codes, etc
- Generates certificate of conformance and verifies certificate of analysis from suppliers
- Attends morning operational meetings and provides concise communication on required topics
- Inputs key inspection process metrics for trending and monitoring purposes
- Performs accurate physical and visual inspections of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per inspection plans and specification requirements.
- Performs product identification and traceability activities.
- Reads and interprets specification and drawings.
- Resolves inspection and material questions by working with operations personnel.
- Follows all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Actively supports and complies with Peli’s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
- Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
This is a site-based role, located in Leighton Buzzard. Commutable from Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Luton, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas
What you will need to be successful..
- General Certificate of Secondary Education
- One year of Quality Inspection experience
- General computer knowledge required
- Must be able to enter information into excel databases, in addition to keeping accurate records.
- Familiar with manufacturing environment, inspecting, testing, sampling, and sorting of products/goods being manufactured.
- Comfortable with basic machinery and able to learn equipment test procedures where required.
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications…
- Two-year technical degree
- Two years’ experience within a recognized quality program (ISO, ASTM, GMP)
