WASP, is the Havant, UK site for Collins interiors. Designing and manufacturing electronic and electrical products for premium cabin interiors seating. This includes, but not limited to, lighting products, control boxes touchscreens and passenger switches. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have several exciting positions available right now, including a Quality Inspector in our Havant facility.
The successful candidate can expect to:
Conduct Quality inspection and coordination activities at WASP in a manner that conforms to company policies and procedures, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation.
This includes:
- Mechanical & Cosmetic Inspection
- Incoming and Final Inspection of WASP Products and Quality Records
- Provide Quality Control activities including those required for New Product Introduction
- Support all departments that interface with Quality
- Act as a flexible member of a dynamic inspection team; providing inspection services as dictated by business needs
- First Article Inspection
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting major quality issues to Senior Quality team
- Working with inspection team to ensure inspection consistency.
- To provide inspection services (identified by the Production and Quality Managers) for:
o Goods Inwards Inspection
o Repairs & Returns – incoming and final
o Final Assembly
- Support the planning of inspection activities based on agreed schedules
- with Materials Management and Production
- Assist in the creation of new procedures, techniques, tools etc
- Work to inspection schedules under general supervision
- Taking part in the First Article Inspection (FAI) process to ensure all
- products and updates are inspected
- Assist in training of quality and production team members
- Assist in development of statistical methods to reduce inspection
- Provides support to production solving basic problems
- Identifying non-conforming parts or products and escalating significant
- issues to Senior Quality team
- Notifying design of any errors/inconsistency in inspection requirements
- Raising non-conforming product reports
- Liaising with suppliers as appropriate
- Conduct Material Review Board activities (MRB)

What you need to succeed?
Essential Criteria:
- Inspection experience gained in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with quality disciplines including 8D reporting, 5 Whys and the completion of corrective action reports
- Good written and oral communication skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Able to interpret Engineering drawings
