Job Description
This newly created role, reporting to the Head of International Accounting, will be responsible for implementing a new operating model for R2R in close partnership with corporate and business stakeholders for the International arena (which comprises all Xplor entities outside the US and Canada).
You will work with the business and develop strong relationships with the commercial team and other departments, working closely with them to on the processes and procedures.
This position will lead and execute the development of strategic initiatives and continuous improvement of R2R processes including technology system integrations, and through metric analytics ensure effective service delivery to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities / What you will do:
- Oversee the R2R process ensuring that the accounts are complete, accurate and delivered within Group reporting deadlines
- Collaborate with FP&A teams on understanding the monthly business performance
- Prepare the short term and long-term operational cash forecast and requirements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Ensure that all reconciliations are prepared, reviewed and approved and that all reconciling items are dealt with promptly
- Managing the year end audit for group, sub-consolidations and local accounts
- Liaise and work with the Tax team with the analysis required in the preparation of the corporate tax returns and transfer pricing
- Preparation of the IFRS sub consolidation statutory accounts and all local financial accounts
- Ensure that the US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations are prepared and reviewed
- Manage the capital adequacy of regulated entities and reporting to ensure compliance
- Manage banking relationships
- Incorporation of acquisitions into the R2R process
- Collaborate with the Netsuite team to drive process improvements and efficiencies
- Ensure consistent methodologies are applied with the goal of driving standardised processes and, where there are deviations, these are adequately substantiated.
- Develop a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness
- Lead continuous improvement projects, including working closely with the commercial business leaders on the development of standardised processes and reporting for both the payments and software business.
- Provides overall leadership for planning, staffing, training, goal setting and management.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Strong controls bias and experience (SOX preferable)
- Relevant operational R2R experience including but not limited to management and financial reporting requirements, plus balance sheet reconciliation and journals, banking, fixed assets, intercompany, tax returns (direct and indirect)
- Experience in preparation of consolidated IFRS accounts
- Experience of managing external audit to tight deadlines
- IFRS and US GAAP experience
- Excellent people management skills with experience of working with remote teams across multiple locations.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to perform complex analysis and reconciliations.
- Experienced in leading process improvement and the execution of new processes and procedures
- Ability to build and nurture productive working relationships with individuals and teams regionally and globally
- Must be innovative, good communication, presentation and analytical skills
