Job description: Recra is working in partnership with a fantastic recycling company based in Leicester, we are looking for a Process Operator to join the team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating the plant equipment safely assisting in the day-to-day operations of a materials recycling plant, controlling the flow of processed and residual material, by the use of a SCADA-based system;
- Correctly and efficiently undertaking plant set-up activities to ensure high quality of the finished product;
- Completing comprehensive plant walkarounds hourly reporting defects;
- Monitor and measure the performance of the sort line operatives. Interfacing with the Team Leaders to adjust staffing positions to optimize the quality of the materials, signing the Team Leaders feedback sheets;
- Ensure that the plant operations meet performance expectations and that material quality meets specifications.
- The safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Control Room, including effective management of the baler operator.
- To fully investigate all plant alarms that appear on SCADA;
- Completion of optical sorter inspections and twice daily counts;
- Completing a full and comprehensive Production shift report, that highlights all plant issues, material quality, bunker levels, and shift status;
- Completing detailed reports of all stoppages ten minutes and over;
- You will be responsible for the operation of system components, such as motors and fans, to ensure the safe and continuous running of the plant operations, communicating any problems to the maintenance and management teams and at the same time keeping accurate, detailed records of all plant settings, output and KPI related target;.
- Identify and respond to plant and process problems in order to minimize disruption and plant downtime.
- Identify and report to the Maintenance department any plant/equipment malfunction, and document the according to the shift reports;
- Gather and collect data for the process equipment and identify actions to be taken to minimise equipment and machinery failure;
- Implement shutdown, isolation, and emergency maintenance of equipment, ensuring all required permits and safety procedures have been followed before bringing production back online;
- Safely but efficiently recover plant from shutdown situations to minimise production losses;
- Carry out Emergency stop testing in line with the maintenance schedule every planned shutdown;
- Complete the Health and Safety walk-round list on the planned shutdown day;
- You will also be responsible for ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance and contributing to continuous improvement in productivity and plant availability;
- Involvement in emergency response duties as defined by the Company’s Emergency Procedures;
- Ensuring aspects of Operational and noise management plans are adhered to at all times;
- To maintain housekeeping of defined areas to appropriate GMP / 5s and best practice systems;
- Ensuring the daily targets are met and surpassed;
- Work mostly unsupervised;
- Have a good understanding of site Health, Safety & Environmental rules;
- Housekeeping of the control room and maintenance areas;
Personal Specification:
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Excellent understanding of production processes;
- Good communication skills, written and oral;
- Dynamic and tenacious approach with a proven track record of delivery;
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office package.
