Falkirk Council is seeking to recruit an experienced Regeneration and Tourism professional, who will be responsible for progressing significant place-based regeneration work to support economic growth across the Falkirk area.
The Regeneration and Tourism Team Leader will develop and oversee projects designed to promote the Falkirk area, drive visitor numbers, and address current social, economic and environmental challenges.
This work will demand the development of economic development strategies, master planning and the delivery of complex place-based regeneration interventions which are shaped by the needs and aspirations of local communities to bring improvements to our towns and village centres and our tourism assets.
The role will support the Falkirk BID, the Local Tourism Partnership and a number of other representative groups, as we deliver on the aspirations of our local places and key tourism assets.
The role will be responsible for seeking and securing significant external funding to support our ambitions for the area. This will require a considerable focus on cross-service collaboration, engagement and communication, financial planning, project and resource management, reporting and project evaluation to deliver a portfolio of externally funded compliant projects for the Council.
You will have excellent project management, budgetary and report writing skills. Your role will involve regular contact with senior internal staff, operational staff, elected members, and community bodies.
