This position will join our Recruitment and Admissions team based in London, primarily based with the Dagenham campus and working closely with our campuses based in Greenwich and Middlesex St.

The Role

As Regional Student Widening Participation Specialist you will support the Coventry University Group’s Access and Participation Plan that emphasises attainment raising activities in schools and colleges whilst supporting recruitment activity.

The WP Specialist will take day-to-day responsibility for the management of the regional Student Ambassador Scheme in line with centrally led best practice in recruitment, selection, training and development.

You will deliver a suite of attainment-raising activities with schools and colleges and support our work with strategic partners and networks.

You will be working closely with academics and professional services staff to create and enhance local delivery to meet national direction and Group-wide targets.

Duties Include:

  • Developing and managing activities delivered in conjunction with our widening participation partners and networks
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating all WP activity ensuring information is accurate, up to date and appropriate for the relevant and target audience
  • Contributing to the continued implementation on the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) to enable the WP Manager to provide targeted advice to regions and WP staff based in region.

Degree (or equivalent)

Our Successful Candidate

Our successful candidate will have:

Proven successful track record in higher education WP and/or recruitment activity.

Outstanding persuasion and influencing skills (including oral, written and presentation skills) with the ability to build strong relationships with key stake holders, influence, and debate at senior levels, to get the desired result.

Exceptional organisational, planning, change and project management skills are essential requirements for this role along with a flexible approach to work. The working hours for this role is a 5/7 working pattern including evenings and weekends as required and travel for work associated with the role will be required.

Joining a global education provider, experience, empathy and awareness of cultural differences with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
