Job description: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment providing a high standard of care in a stage 2 post-anaesthetic care unit. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of nurses providing pre and post-op care to patients undergoing elective surgical procedures.   • Ensure patient episode of care is delivered in a safe and timely manner.
  • Implement Trust policies and protocols.
  • Maximise the use of resources within your sphere of responsibility.
  • Ensure that quality standards of care are implemented in line with the Care Group and Trust aims and objectives.
  • Contribute in the development and maintenance of patient information systems.
  • Collect and enter data onto the theatre computer system in an accurate and timely way,
  • Communicate information to relevant disciplines.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with the Data Protection Act and your code of conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with the Trust’s risk management policies and procedures.
  • Comply with national and local infection control policies and procedures and any other related infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the implementation and evaluation of new developments and be aware of service needs, quality and assurance programmes.
  • Actively promote research awareness and participate in research based projects and participate in working groups as required.
  • Ability to problem solve and escalate to appropriate level.
