Job description: This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nursing Associate to join our team on Kings A2 Ward at the WHH. The Registered Nursing Associate is an essential role to support the nursing team to provide patient centred, safe and high quality care.We are a 20 bedded acute surgical ward specialising in colo-rectal surgery and stoma care. It is essential to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform your role effectively and ensure evidence of competence is provided to the line manager .There are opportunities for development, to learn new skills, especially within the vascular patients care. It is essential to recognise your own limitations and seek advice when appropriate, identifying own learning needs to discuss with line manager / appraiser.Main duties of the jobMaintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform your role effectively and ensure evidence of competence is provided to line managerRecognise own limitations and seek advice when appropriate, identifying own learning needs to discuss with line manager / appraiser.Participate in an annual appraisal with relevant reviews and to follow your personal development plan as agreed with your line manager.Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy environment at all timesReport any concerns or problems to line managerUndertake all mandatory trainingParticipate in ward meetings and be involved in the decision making process when changes take place.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
