Part-time: 12 hours shifts averaging 28 hours per week

Open-ended (permanent) 

Shift times: 7:30am-8:30pm (with 1 hour unpaid lunch) rolling 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off 

Paid overtime, accrued for any additional shift cover

The Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a registered veterinary nurse to join our established nursing team at the Hospital for Small Animals (HfSA) on a rolling 4 shifts on, 8 shifts off rota pattern. 

This role will predominantly work in our state-of-the-art Intermediate Care Ward designed for patients requiring 24h hour constant monitoring or those patients that need more intensive nursing involvement than our general ward patients. If you thrive on gold standard patient care, are detail oriented and appreciate hands on nursing, this is the role for you.

As part of this role, you will be expected to cover the annual leave for your colleagues, accruing paid overtime for all additional hours worked. 

Prior nursing experience in a referral hospital is desirable, however, full training will be provided to successful candidate. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Being an RCVS registered veterinary nurse (RVN) is essential.  
  • Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential.   
  • Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is a must.
