Full-time: 35 hours per week + 2.5 hours contractual overtime per week, paid overtime (Saturday mornings) with any additional shift cover 

Fixed-term: Maternity Cover for 12 months

We are looking for an enthusiastic general practice nurse to join our friendly team for a 12-month Maternity cover post.

The opportunity:

The Dick Vet General Practice (DVGP) is a first opinion practice within the Hospital for Small Animals.

You will receive comprehensive training and induction with friendly, knowledgeable staff. You need the ability to work under your own initiative and be an active member of the nursing and DVGP team. You will be required to work primarily in our dog and cat practice (DVGP) but nursing support in other areas of the hospital may occasionally be required.

The post holder will participate in a Saturday morning rota on a shared basis with existing practice nursing staff.

Flexibility in working hours (day shifts only) will be required between 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 11am-7pm. Saturday 9am-12pm.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Must be an RCVS registered veterinary nurse (RVN).
  • Excellent organisational and communications skills are essential.
  • Keen dedication to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses is a must.
  • General nursing experience.
  • Organisational skills.
