Research and Projects Administrator at King’s College London
Job Description
We are recruiting a part-time (70% FTE) Research and Projects Administrator to work in the Service User Research Enterprise (SURE) at King’s College London. SURE is a unique academic research group comprised predominantly of researchers and Patient and Public Involvement Co-ordinators with direct (personal) and indirect (friends and family) experiences of neurodivergence; trauma, violence and abuse; madness; mental distress; and using or refusing mental health services. We conduct research from the perspectives of first-hand experiences, support and coordinate Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) activities, and carry out PhD supervision and teaching. We aim to connect our research to relevant local and national communities and networks. SURE and external partner organisation Traumascapes have been awarded a new three-year Wellcome grant to deliver a Lancet Psychiatry Commission on Lived Experience in Mental Health Research. SURE and Traumascapes also carry out research projects with survivor led organisations and people with lived experience on topics relating to trauma, violence and abuse.
We are looking for someone to carry out high quality administration of the new Wellcome grant, as well as administration of further projects and research, to help ensure the smooth running of these activities. You will work closely with Dr Angela Sweeney, Director of SURE, and will be connected to Traumascapes staff, SURE members and professional services staff working in other research centres and groups.
We encourage applications from candidates who have experience of working in higher education, or in other settings (e.g. community organisations), where they have the skills needed to carry out the role. We warmly welcome applications from candidates who identify as being from a community or communities under-served by the higher education sector. We welcome enquiries about flexible working including working from home.
