Job description: We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join an equally enthusiastic international team. The role is based in an interdisciplinary group across developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience to provide proof-of-concept demonstrations that virtual reality can be used to study cooperation in children and young people.The post is part-time (18.75 hours per week), fixed term for 17 months.Our studies will be preregistered, and we would expect the job holder to take a co-leading role in publishing the results of our research in peer-reviewed scientific journals and to co-present at scientific conferences. In addition, we maintain an active research community in Oxford and beyond and they would be expected to help in the dissemination of research findings on a public-facing website as well as preparing materials for presentations to participating institutions and families.The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in psychology (or related discipline) with experience or a documented keen interest in using novel methods, in particular virtual reality. They will have experience of working with young children and their families. Their excellent interpersonal and communication skills will give them the ability to work and liaise with young people, parents, schools and study teams as well as being able to write text that can be published. Experience with statistical data analysis (R, Python or Matlab) and of conducting research to protocol are also required as is the ability to manage their own research and administrative activities.This role is perfectly suited to an early career researcher looking to build their academic CV and gain research experience.Closing date for applications is midday on 11 July 2024.
