Contract Type: Fixed-term from 1st June 2024 until 28th February 2025

We have an exciting opportunity in the Information School at the University of Sheffield for an excellent Research Associate to work on the Innovate UK funded Trustworthy ML Approaches to Energy Consumption Data. The project is an industrial research and development project in energy systems and involves academic researchers in Physics and Astronomy, the Information School, and Computer Science, working together with a consortium of energy companies.  The overall aim of the project will be to explore how industry stakeholders can develop trustworthy machine learning solutions that will enable industry-wide access to smart meter data for the purposes of achieving net-zero targets.

You will have – or be close to completing – a PhD (or equivalent) in a field related to the ethics, accountability and governance of data and/or AI, and have experience of using qualitative methods.
