About role:

University College London (UCL) wishes to appoint a Research Fellow in Infrastructure and International Development. The post holder will be based at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, a world-leading faculty ranked #1 in the world for Built Environment studies and #1 in the UK for its research environment. The post holder will carry out research and programme administration within the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, focusing on issues related to international development and global south, consistent with the vision and mission of The School. This role is available from 16 March 2024 until 28 February 2026 in the first instance.

About You:

The successful applicant will be expected to work with experts from different disciplines and sectors. The candidate should have experience of working in a research environment on issues related to international development and global south, with a track record of delivering academic publications along with stakeholder management experience to enable them to manage interdisciplinary partnerships. The applicant should have a strong understanding of the range of infrastructure solutions suitable for developing countries preferably with a technical knowledge of how infrastructure solutions work. The candidate will need to engage with wider sustainability and climate issues with infrastructure as the entry point. They will also have experience of working in a research environment, with a track record of delivering academic publications along with stakeholder management experience to enable them to manage interdisciplinary partnerships. They will have a commitment to high-quality research and development and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team. They will hold a good Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in infrastructure related subject with international development research experience.
