Job Description
Full time – 35 hours per week 9 (Part time can be considered)
Contract type – Fixed term till 31st October 2024
The Opportunity:
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), but we are open to discussing part time options, and is fixed time until the 31st of October 2024. We are looking for a person to work on the SCONe (Scottish Collaborative Optometry-Ophthalmology Network e-research) project. The post holder will develop and implement novel image analysis algorithms using computer programming expertise and machine learning techniques such as deep learning to detect and quantify small-vessel features, vascular abnormalities, signs of neurodegeneration, lesions and clusters thereof, in retinal images.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- A good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. physics, engineering, mathematics or computing).
- Programming experience and mathematical ability in machine learning
- Experience in delivering research projects including aspects such as study design, implementation and analysis.
- Evidence of leadership potential.
- Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team and to use own initiative.
