Research Growth Support Officer at University of Sheffield

February 14, 2024

Job Description

Are you interested in supporting the growth of world-leading and world-changing research at the University of Sheffield?

We have an exciting opportunity in Research Partnerships and Innovation (RPI) for a highly motivated individual who thrives in a varied and collaborative working environment. This is an exciting time to join the department in what is a newly created role. The University has ambitious targets for research income to support its strategy for excellent research and the Research Growth team (RG), based in RPI plays a key role supporting academics across the University to maximise their chances of winning research funding.

There are many and varied opportunities for our academics to apply for research funding and for which we offer support. You will have a key role in organising, managing, using and enabling the best use of the funding related information and knowledge that underpins our support, and that can be the difference between our academics making a successful or unsuccessful application.

Activity will be varied but will involve both longer term projects as well as shorter-term activity. The successful candidate will be able to take a lead in aspects of the work, have an attention for detail, strong organisational skills, an interest in managing and enabling the use of complex information and the motivation to build yours and others understanding of the funding environment and how it applies to different areas of research.

If you are passionate about making things happen, then we would love to hear from you.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and the University. We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
