Research Project Manager (Fixed Term) at University of Cambridge

We’re seeking a talented and highly motivated Research Project Manager to revolutionise patient care and advance our world-class breast cancer research.

As the Research Project Manager, you will manage the delivery of multi-modal data integration projects that will develop clinically applicable tools and predictive machine learning algorithms using data collected from multiple breast cancer clinical trials. A key element of the project will be to establish processes that will move us from retrospective and manually curated multi-modal data sets to automated, near real time data integration that can be used to inform clinical care.

Responsibilities/duties:

• Management of PBCI-led multi-modal data integration (MMDI) projects and budgets to ensure timely delivery including the determination of milestones, deadlines and deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, biologists, and computational scientists to develop advanced algorithms and models.
• Develop a multi-modal data integration resource (MMDR) framework to guide the establishment, ongoing maintenance, and growth of the database.

Requirements and qualifications:

• Educated to degree level in a health related or biomedical science subject or equivalent experience.
• Experience in managing research projects within an academic and / or NHS environment.
• Experience in managing IT-based projects, e.g., that have an element of scientific software development, or through work on software as a medical device.
• Strong understanding of the importance of maintaining high work standards and ethical standards in clinical research projects.
• Passion for translating data into actionable insights, directly impacting patient outcomes.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
