Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Scientist in Veterinary Microbiology part time 0.6FTE within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.

This interesting and varied position will provide the opportunity to work in different areas within veterinary microbiology. The main task will involve contribution to a large collaborative EU project tackling the One Health problem of antimicrobial resistance across the human health, animal health and environmental sectors.  The successful candidate will be involved in several key tasks including the development of an European-wide surveillance system to monitor antimicrobial resistance in selected animal pathogens isolated from diseased companion animals, and in the development and implementation of antimicrobial stewardship and infection control and prevention programmes in veterinary medicine.  This work will require attendance at several meetings and workshops within the EU.  This position will also provide a valuable opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake specialist training in veterinary microbiology and to work towards European diplomate status under the supervision of European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM) diplomates.

Salary: €63,000 per annum at 0.6FTE pro rata

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
