Contract type: Fixed term until 30th September 2024

About the role

We are looking for a Research Technician to be based at the Human Islet Isolation Facility at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism (OCDEM), Churchill Hospital. The post holder will be able to take part in all aspects of the clinical islet isolation procedure and transplantation. In addition, there will be an opportunity for you to carry out research under the supervision of a senior scientist into islet isolation and transplantation or islet biology.

About you

You will be able to work well in a team, carry out tasks with accuracy and take a flexible approach to your workload. You should have good literacy and numeracy skills, and be able to communicate well with people at all levels. You will be willing to participate in the out-of-hours rota for islet isolation services, and in return you will receive additional remuneration for work carried out during these times.

Previous practical experience of working in a Laboratory would be desirable, however it is not essential as full training will be provided for this role. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good literacy and numeracy skills. Willingness to participate in the out-of-hours rota is essential for this post.

Available immediately, this full-time post is fixed-term until 30th September 2024. Contract extensions are renewed annually, subject to the availability of further funding.
