Job description: Residential Conveyancing Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive/CLC – Coventry An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor, CILEX or CLC within the Property Department based at a busy Coventry Office. Salary – £40,000 – £50,000+ (dependent on experience) The successful candidate will carry out all aspects of residential conveyancing, along with managing and supporting a small team at one office to ensure that work is carried out in an expeditious manner, meeting the standards required by Lexcel and CQS. You will also develop business opportunities within the Property Department, working closely with the Head of Department and other team members. ROLE * Undertake residential conveyancing work on behalf of clients of the Firm * Supervising and managing other Fee Earners and administration staff within the Firm’s structure and other staff as necessary * Dealing with clients, intermediaries and HM Land Registry etc. both in person and over the telephone * File management to the standards defined by the Firm * Ensure budgets are managed and met * Undertake file audits within the team * Pro-active business development of self and Firm to raise profile of the Conveyancing department at Coventry * Undertake any reasonable instructions given by management within the limits of this employment description * Undertake continuing competency training to include compulsory CQS training * Supporting and reporting to the Head of Conveyancing ABOUT YOU * Qualified Solicitor, CILEX or CLC, with a minimum of 5 years residential conveyancing experience in sales, purchases, TOE, shared ownership, new builds and leasehold * Excellent interpersonal skills * Business development skills * Good organisation and administration skills * Ability to be a team player * A sound knowledge of conveyancing procedures, CQS Protocol and Anti-Money Laundering legislation * Experience of Lexcel standard is desirable * Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Case Management Systems experience of using Tikit is desirable * You will be required to work at the other offices of the Firm from time to time be as required by the management * Driving license and use of own vehicle essential BENEFITS * A competitive salary with annual reviews * Flexible and hybrid working options * Generous holiday entitlement * Holiday buy and sell scheme (on successful completion of probationary period) * Office closure between Christmas and New Year (1 day of annual leave will be allocated to this) * 1pm finish on Christmas Eve when it falls on a normal working day * BUPA Health cash plan scheme (on successful completion of probationary period) * Employee assistance programme for both employees and their families * Death in service benefit (on successful completion of probationary period) * Access to online GP support (on successful completion of probationary period) * Bereavement and probate helpline and counselling service support for employees and their families (on successful completion of probationary period) * Career development opportunities * Reputation of a legal 500 firm, Lexcel accredited, disability confident, living wage employer * Enhanced company sick pay * Discounted legal fees including free Will * Long service awards * Charity and community activities * Easily commutable town centre office locations.
