As a Retail Trade Sales Manager, you’ll be an integral part of my client’s retail team, and your primary focus will be on trade customers. Your role will include:

Event Opportunities:

  • Managing and supporting the Store Managers to grow event opportunities.
  • Market Analysis: Monitoring and analysing activities and trends, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Local Business Partnerships: Collaborating with local businesses to enhance their trade accounts.
  • Profit Optimisation: Ensuring Gross Profits (GPs) and product mixes achieve desirable profit results.
  • Customer Relationships: Building and nurturing relationships with key customers to maximise growth.
  • Competitor Analysis: Keeping a close eye on the competitor market and industry trends.
  • Order Management: Overseeing the ordering process for all customers, encouraging them to order.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Exceptional selling skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • FMCG experience, alcohol in particular.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding sales and negotiation skills.
  • A keen awareness of the wider marketplace and competitors.
  • Understanding of retail operations, processes, and systems.
  • Strong self-discipline, time management, and prioritisation abilities.
  • Commercial acumen to drive results.
  • The ability to influence both internal and external customers.
  • Strong presentation skills.
