Job description: The Role
The client accounting team at Strutt and Parker provide a wide range of bookkeeping and accountancy services to clients of the firm. Specialising in business in the Rural, Land and Property sector.
We are looking for a strong leader who wants to have a positive impact and to head up the team of 20, based in our Chelmsford office.
As the Rural Accounting Practice Manager you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the team delivers a high quality, high standard bookkeeping, and accountancy service to our clients
- Provide solutions to client servicing requirements
- Client quotations and pitches for new work
- Monitor and maintain compliance within the team
- Act as final resolution point for all queries
- People and team development
- Authorisation of all supplier payments
- Completing review of annual accounts files
- Ensure all department heads and their teams are meeting agreed timetables and objectives
- Training the team & colleagues across the business
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To hold a relevant professional accountancy membership (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)
- People and team management experience
- To have an appetite for and experience of change management
The ideal candidate will likely have:
- Practice experience
- Client management experience
- Knowledge of the Rural or property sector
- Knowledge of VAT rules applied to land and property businesses
- Change management experience
- Be confident in delivering staff training
