The Sales and Events Co-ordinator is a critical role in the Catering and Events team of the Commercial Services Directorate, responsible for administrating and co-ordinating the sale and delivery of internal bookings and commercial events, hospitality deliveries and internal and commercial accommodation bookings in venues and residences across the University.
Reporting to the Sales and Events Team Leader, the Sales and Events Co-ordinator is responsible for liaising with clients to plan and deliver excellent conference and events experiences for guests.
The postholder will be the first point of contact for Catering and Events customers, providing a proactive, professional and flexible support service to staff, students and colleagues measured against defined service level agreements and key performance indicators
Specifically, postholder duties include:
- Responding to venue enquiries for new and existing customers in a timely manner with suitable venue options and availability, following up all enquiries to the point of sale.
- Entering new event enquiries and sales on the systems provided to help inform client follow-up activity, operational delivery and University financial processes.
- Assisting with hospitality and accommodation enquiries and bookings, directing internal and commercial users to the online platforms accordingly, troubleshooting where necessary.
- Meet with prospective and regular clients to conduct wedding, conference and event show rounds to discuss event logistics prior to booking activity.
Note that this role includes some evening and weekend working in line with business requirements.
