About the role:
The purpose of this post is to manage assigned strategic development accounts in order to maximise the growth potential in line with the business strategy and convert identified new business opportunities. The role is varied; sometimes office based but with regular external customer meetings and requires a flexible, enthusiastic Sales Manager that has the ability to multi task in a fast paced environment. Creative and passionate about products the role enables development of a variety of skills from new product creation through to sales and marketing, a true entrepreneurial opportunity to develop designated accounts. Responsible for a group of Account Manager’s to deliver on the business strategy within a designated sector.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Objective is to grow existing strategic customer portfolio and convert identified new customer opportunities in line with company objectives achieving business added value and sales revenue targets. Secondary objectives around KPI’s which include on-boarding new customers and personnel development
Job Description
- Accountable for converting identified new businesses within specific category of responsibility.
- Responsible for research, assessment of new customer opportunities in line with New Business Team approval from website enquiries.
- Communicating at all levels of business internally and externally, to deliver on the vision of The Trusted Manufacturing Partner in Health & Beauty
- Ensure regular communication with identified prospective customers, engaging with and creating a partnership to evolve opportunities.
- Develop Account Manager skills, knowledge and expertise to ensure other opportunities are explored and developed.
- To develop best practice across the Account Manager function, providing leadership, motivation, support and mentoring as and where appropriate for designated personnel.
- Ownership of commercials of customer portfolio, negotiation and quotation submission and overall commercial P&L analysis for responsible category, in line with business directives.
- Ensure Account Manager progress in line to track forecast against budget within category, taking steps to improve outcomes where possible to achieve submitted Strategic Approval sign off forecasts on new customers
- Create and maintain strategic business plan for category of responsibility
- Work with the SLT Team to understand changes & investments within the business and ensure this gets communicated both Internal & Customer level
- Ensure seamless internal and external handover from Sales Manager or Senior Account Manager to Account Manager
- Development of department SOP’s and SWI’s for cross site integration, training SOP’s and delivering a tool box of support measures to develop personnel
- Lead on behalf on the Sales Director specified projects across the departments and cross site as required for example Production Reviews, Sales Meetings, AV Reviews
- Create and maintain strategic business plan for category of responsibility
- Understanding of key target customer markets, competitor news and industry knowledge, an inquisitive mind with a creative approach
