Reporting into the Lead Sales Performance Coach you will be responsible for coaching and developing sales professionals to help them achieve their sales targets and exceed their performance goals.
This is a remote working role with site visits three days per week, with flexibility required in line with business needs. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must have a full UK Driving Licence.
About the role
Working collaborating with Sales Leaders/Managers, you’ll identify areas of improved sales effectiveness within the sales process. You will deliver regular one-on-one coaching sessions to help salespeople improve their skills and achieve their sales targets, tracking/reporting on sales team performance metrics and adjusting coaching plans as needed.
You will develop customised coaching plans for each salesperson and regional team, focusing on areas such as prospecting, pipeline management, and deal closing techniques. You’ll lead the mechanism for producing feedback on sales calls, customer visits, presentations, and other customer interactions to help salespeople improve their techniques and close more deals.
You will develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices and sharing success stories, continuously monitoring industry trends to stay up-to-date and relevant. Alongside this, you’ll ensure that compliance, sales ways of working, CRM Siebel/sales force, and all Sales standards are given key focus within coaching conversations.
Provide coaching support and management of Sales Graduate, Sales Apprentice & Work placement programs/individuals including coaching liaison with external and internal training providers, support the introduction and adoption of Salesforce CRM within Sales teams.

- Strong understanding of sales methodologies, techniques, and tools
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills across a wide spectrum of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales managers, sales training managers and sales operations
- Strong analytical skills and ability to track and report on sales team performance metrics
- Excellent personal management skills including integrity, adaptability, agility, and resilience
- Strong commercial acumen and an appreciation of the commercial strategic requirements of Royal Mail
- Effective understanding and workplace application of core Sales competencies levels
Experience
- Strong experience in commercial environment i.e. sales, with a proven track record of success
- Previous experience of coaching, training, or mentoring sales professionals, sales management
- An understanding of all Royal Mail products, services, and ways of working
- Experience with identifying and deploying best practice (internal & external)
Qualifications
- Coaching Certification Level 3-5 (desirable or plan to work towards) as well as coaching experience
- ISP (Institute of Sales Professional) Registered Sales Professional
- ISP (Institute of Sales Professional) Certificate in Sales Professional
- Flexible on travel with a full driving licence
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related commercial field (desirable)
