School website:SummaryThe governors of Inskip St Peter’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, reliable and conscientious school business support officer to run our school office and support our Headteacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our dedicated, small and welcoming team.The successful candidate will be responsible for school administrative activities including administration of financial processes; support with general clerical and administrative duties including welcoming pupils, parents and visitors; dealing with telephone enquiries; maintaining pupil records; using the school’s IT systems for recording the uptake of school dinners and breakfast/afterschool clubs, trips, income, online payments and communicating with parents as well as other general office duties. It is vital that applicants have already worked in a school office and have experience of SIMS, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and are competent in a range of IT skills as management of our school website will be a part of their role. A knowledge of ParentPay would also be an advantage.The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their workload; using their own initiative to solve problems, being adaptable to any future changes necessary to meet the needs of the school. As first point of contact for the school, you must have excellent communication skills, be smart and have a professional, positive and approachable attitude at all times with an ability to form positive relationships with all pupils, parents, staff, governors, contractors and visitors. The successful candidate will understand the importance of integrity and confidentiality in this vital role. We are keen to appoint somebody who has high expectations of themselves, with the ability to work under pressure whilst ensuring accuracy is a priority in all work undertaken.This school, as detailed in our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.   • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 Business Administration or equivalent

Essential Experience

  • Experience of Microsoft Email, Word and Excel
  • Experience of financial procedures
  • Preparation and presentation of reports, letters/documents
  • Experience of School administration systems – SIMS and Finance 6
  • Working in a school office environment
  • Good knowledge of school website requirements
  • Experience of working within a customer facing job
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll systems
