Fixed Term, 6 months secondment and absence cover
Full-Time or Part-Time
We are looking for an individual or individuals with an MSc in Science Communication/Public Engagement or related discipline or several years of experience as a science communication/public engagement practitioner and who have an interest in teaching science communication at MSc and Honours level. It would be useful but not essential to have qualitative and/or quantitative social science research skills. This job is available full-time or part-time from 0.2FTE.
The Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to become a member of a dynamic teaching team for science communication/public engagement at the University of Edinburgh. You will be involved in teaching, assessment, dissertation supervision and marking, primarily for on-campus MScs Science Communication and Public Engagement. You may also be required to assist in additional teaching for undergraduate science communication courses/units on-campus. Please note that the teaching is in person, face to face in Edinburgh. A MSc in Science Communication or several years of experience in science communication/public engagement practice. Additionally, it would be preferable to have some experience of teaching in Higher Education is essential. IT expertise is required along with good interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism. The part-time posts require flexibility around weekly working hours across semesters as the work is not evenly distributed on a weekly basis.
