Summary of Role Purpose:

People Consulting is an integral part of KPMG’s Management Consulting practice. The team draw upon the knowledge of a wide range of in-house experts, as well as collaborate globally with other People Consulting teams, to enable organisational transformation. The team revolutionise the way people are led, managed and developed, to ensure organisations of all shapes and sizes are future-ready.

Client megatrends and challenges which People Consulting is accustomed to dealing with include regulatory changes, disruptive technology, globalisation, changing customer needs, demographics and the environment and sustainability.

People Consulting focus upon a number of key areas to support these challenges, including digitally enabled employee engagement; technology enabled transformation; regulatory compliance and internal controls; skills and capabilities; agile organisation and workforce; shaping the future of the workforce; people change and leadership capability; value-driving efficient and cost-effective HR, powered by technology; predictive insightful people consulting

Description of the role:

We are seeking talented individuals to join our People Consulting Sectors team, who have experience in core People Consulting capabilities (those listed in the above People Consulting description).

You will join an established and highly successful Sectors People Consulting practice, with the opportunity to leverage our leading practice methodologies and continue our growth both in the market and internally through growing skills and capabilities within our team.

You will be working closely with FTSE 100 clients across a broad range of industries including Energy, Telecoms, Retail, Life Sciences and Aerospace & Defence.

Role dimensions:

As a manager in our team we will expect you to:

  • Shape client programmes of work to drive lasting transformation
  • Manage projects, or workstreams within in a larger programme, comprising of roughly 4 consultants
  • Build and manage relationships with clients on a daily basis
  • Leverage your expertise and network to generate new client opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of our People Consulting propositions and assets
  • Take a lead in knowledge sharing and developing People Consulting skills within our team
  • Be a career coach for up to 4 consultants, helping them to develop and progress their careers

The Person:

Essential experience

  • Proven consulting experience and a proven ability to build strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Specific knowledge, skills and experience working in any of our core People Consulting proposition areas, including Organisation Design, Workforce Transformation, Change Management, Learning, and Human Resources Transformation.
  • Understanding of the strategic challenges and opportunities facing leaders in the current climate – such as technology innovation, diversity and inclusion, culture, workforce shaping, workforce experience, workforce insights, and environment and sustainability.
  • Experience in successfully managing and delivering transformation activities with a small team and in challenging client contexts.
  • Ability to influence key client stakeholders and demonstrate added value to enable senior management to decide to continue their relationship with KPMG (e.g. influence key buyers).
  • Understanding of key tools and technology that enable the delivery of successful transformation and elevates People Consulting propositions.
  • Ability to leverage deep functional knowledge and experience to develop solutions to the client with short turnaround time and often in challenging client contexts.
  • Ability to manage a team and create an environment conducive to professional growth aligned to People Consulting strategic ambitions within junior cohorts.
