Are you passionate about safeguarding networks and ensuring robust security? Do you thrive on staying one step ahead of potential threats? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

As our Security and Network Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting STEM Learning’s network infrastructure and identifying potential security threats and weaknesses in our systems.

You will collaborate with the Infrastructure Engineer to ensure readiness for Cyber Essentials+ certification and be the technical representative driving our ISO27001 certification.

We’re looking for someone with a range of technical skills, knowledge and experience around firewalls, security standards, certification management, networks and infrastructures, along with:

  • excellent organisational and written and verbal communications skills
  • the ability to document thoroughly the work you do
  • the ability to maintain attention to detail while working to deadlines and managing a varied workload

Additional Information

This is a full-time role, based within the York Office with the option to work from home for some of the week.

This role would also receive monitoring alerts out of hours and it includes an expectation to attend to incidents and threats remotely and in person out of hours when required in urgent situations.

The National STEM Learning Centre & Network is a key UK resource for supporting STEM teaching and learning through provision of resources, on-line and physical networking and communities and partnership with a wide range of organisations and individuals. This includes driving forward on-going development of the STEM Ambassadors and STEM Clubs programmes alongside subject-specific support for all involved in teaching STEM subjects to young people.
