Job Description
Based at the St Albans Campus
This post holder will be part of the part of the Safeguarding team and based within the Learning for Independence & Future Employment (LIFE) provision spanning 3 learning areas across 1 college campus ( St Albans) . The role will involve identifying and ensuring needs are being met of students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
The role will require a delivery of early help support, advice and guidance to students and their families within the LIFE provision. These include mental health and wellbeing, healthy relationships and friendships, family conflict, housing/homelessness concerns, online safety and many more.
Demonstrable knowledge of the principles involved in giving advice and guidance to children/young people/adults in need, including the place of confidentiality
Understanding of the continuum of need for all student local authorities ensuring full awareness of thresholds of children and adult services
Knowledge of the responsibilities of agencies towards vulnerable people such as Children Services and Adult Care services
Demonstrable knowledge of the range of additional support / agencies which can be of assistance to vulnerable students and families
