The Role
The chosen candidate will assume the role of an IT Tutor responsible for a group of learners at Level 2 and 3, facing various challenges, ranging from moderate to severe learning difficulties. These learners, aged 16-25, require highly personalised approaches to learning, both inside and outside the classroom, particularly focusing on adult life skills within the community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering, designing, and evaluating the IT curriculum in a creative, responsible, and adaptable manner, using a highly personalised approach in collaboration with the Curriculum Area Manager, ensuring a clear understanding of the Intent, Implementation, and Impact.
- Planning, evaluating, and documenting the individual achievements of each learner in line with EHCP Plans, individual targets, and in accordance with RARPA quality procedures
- Contributing to the IT curriculum development through preparation, research, cooperation with colleagues and relevant external organizations, and resource management. This should align with learner needs, defined outcomes, and adhere to the requirements of examination boards (if necessary) and funding agencies.
- Having a solid grasp of the Education Inspection Framework, in line with OFSTED inspections.
- Participating in the Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) curriculum and the welfare of learners, specifically serving as a group tutor and personal tutor, playing a crucial role in shaping, supporting, and monitoring the learner journey.
- Preparing IT lesson resources tailored to individual needs, incorporating a variety of engaging methods, including appropriate use of digital devices, assistive technology, IT interactive resources, and practical activities.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to:
- 2 years minimum UK work experience
- Experience of working in an Education and/or SEN setting
- Adhere to the College’s Health and Safety policy.
- Undergo any necessary training or updates.
- Participate in the advancement of equal opportunities, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding within the department and throughout the College.
- Contribute to the team’s self-assessment activities.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as required by the College.

- Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 08:00-04:30 (40 minute lunch)
